I have a trouble when I try to use multipass with Cineware plugin.
I have a simple Cinema 4D scene (made with the Lite version provided with AE), and I want to import the UVW Material pass Inside AE. The Cineware plugin does that but... it totally mess the aliasing. As you can see on the screenshot I have black edges , regarding that, I can't use the UV pass with this big artefact. If I switch to "Draft" renderer in the Cineware plugin, black edges are removed but the UV pass is still not correct because it need anti aliasing on it ! Is there a trick to fix this issue ? Thank you for your help !
There's nothing wrong. Data passes do not have antialiasing - the pixel value needs to be exact and unique. The only flaw is that C4D does not dilate the edges, but you can easily fix that in AE:
Otherwise simply use two layers with different render settings to work around the issue.
Thank you for your reply.
I understand what you said but, regarding what you said, UV's can't be used if you want a nice render at the end.... ?
I tried to create a very simple cube and texture it Inside C4D, the render is perfect. If I export the file with multipass (UVW map), and try to do the same using the UV pass Inside After Effects the render is totally "aliased". ! Check the two screen below :
