wow, this seems like a pretty awesome and intuitive little program.
i was playing around with it the other night. it seems like it could be a really quick way to get natural looking facial animations and expressions.
so, how exactly do i use it in an after effects project?
for example, is there some way i can press record and get the face movements recorded as keyframes onto the time line?
can i used pre-recorded video to generate the puppet animations? , for example, apply character animator as an effect to a clip.....or does it only work live with a webcam?
so many questions.
The best way to learn Character Animator is to look at the community resources for Character Animator. Go to the website and look at training or just type "character animator" in the search help field at the top right corner of AE and follow the links.

You could use AE's face tracker for that on video footage you record.
