Defects on images uploaded to Lightroom

    Jim Crabs

I have just uploaded a lot of images from my camera card in Lightroom and a high proportion have thin pink vertical lines on the images.  These lines are not on the images when viewed in camera.  What's going on?

This is a hardware malfunction somewhere in between the camera and your viewing the photo in Lightroom, causing file corruption.

It could be a bad camera card, bad card reader or bad USB cable/USB port, failing hard drive or faulty memory.

You need to try doing this transfer of these photos again using different hardware and if possible, transfer to an entirely different computer to see if you can isolate the cause.

Hi Thank you very much for your advice, you were quite correct.  I finally isolated the problem to a poor USB port and have now up loaded the images without the earlier defects.  I'm sorry it has taken me longer than I would like to reply to thank you.  It took a bit of trial and error to sort out the defect.

            Thanks again

            Jim.
