I'm fairly new to the Creative Could Apps and still feeling my way around a bit. I've got to grips with opening images in my Lightroom library as Smart Objects in Photoshop to allow me to edit them, usually so I can use the Content Aware Fill feature. This normally requires me to rasterise the image.
My issue is when I try to move back to Lightroom. When I save my changes, Photoshop creates a .TIFF file of around 300Mb, more than 10 times the size of the original RAW file and the image in my Lightroom library remains unchanged.
Am I doing something wrong or is this just the way the system works?
Could you please let me know the version of Lightroom and Photoshop installed on your computer .
Also I have tried the same workflow on my computer, and the file size of TIFF is large.
So I think this is the expected workflow.
Yes. This is the way the system works. TIFFs are generally much bigger. The raw file has usually 14 bits per pixel, and TIFFs can have 48. Also, TIFFs can have several layers, so the size mounts up quickly.
They are both the latest versions from my Creative Cloud Suite.
