I opened a file that a client had provided and setup the file for press. We sent a proof to the client and was told that some text on the proof was different from what they had submitted.
I opened the original file, and the text was correct. I then opened the file that had been setup for press, and the text read something different. I know I did not change any text–the only thing I did with that text box was change its stacking order within a layer.
I went in and moved the text box to its original stacking layer within the layer, and the text changed back to the way it originally read.
This has me baffled. Has anyone else ever had an issue with the wording of a text box changing when moved to a different stacking order within a layer?
Are you saying you sent a live InDesign file to press?
That is just not a wise thing to do in my opinion. Always send a PDF.
