Version? OS? Did it crash before this started? Any error message?
I'm on Windows 7, running ID CC 2017.0, the next to latest version (which I am avoiding because of what I've read about it). ID started doing this a couple of weeks ago, and getting a whole new computer system (for other reasons) didn't help. Sometimes if I restart several times in a row (and it quits immediately each time) it doesn't quit that time. And then I can work for a while, until I need to quit again and so it goes on and on. Rebooting will get me going again, but doing that several times a day gets tedious.
So far I have uninstalled and reinstalled ID (twice), deleted my preferences more than once, and logged out of CC and back in again; none of it makes any difference. There is no error message; it just goes away a second or two after starting up. And sometimes when it quits it won't restart--I have to go into Windows task manager and end the ID process (sometimes one, sometimes two) to get it to restart. But then if it starts quitting again I'm right back where I started.
Any suggestions would be welcome!
I am on a mac, but ran into a similar situation a while back, it turned out to be an plugin that was not compatible with
the version of ID I was using, once removed no more issues, the other one to look at is a corrupt font that may not be playing nice, if
you use a font manager you could run a diagnostics report to see if it can find a troublesome font, another possible issue maybe that your font cache maybe corrupt, try cleaning it, I have no idea how to do that on a pc though.
This could be helpful--I'll see what I can find in these directions.
Well, what I've done so far hasn't made any difference. I don't have any plug-ins that ID didn't install, and cleaning my font cache hasn't helped either. And I've deleted a bunch of fonts. So not sure what else to try. But I appreciate the thoughts--these things are worth doing anyway.
