Is there any chance the application will not launch properly If I follow these directions?
I have to ask as Id rather not chance losing the catalog or in the worst case scenario access to the application itself.
You can try the above and the application should respond fast and not take much running memory while running on your machine.
Not need to worry
Catalog verification optimization and backup seemed to take forever. but all went well and Im back up and running with no noticeable difference in speed.
What I had thought wss a serious situation has lead to a far more relaxed atmosphere as Im no longer feeling the need to check the memory use in the Activity Monitor.
The color bars in my activity monitor are now indicating a far more efficent use of memory since following your instructions and re launching lightroom. I have seen now yellow nor read memory use indicated wile running Lightroom Photoshop and maybe a dozen browser windows.
I appreciate your patient help.
