Putting a character Image behind another image in AE.

Hi, My name is Devin. I am in a VFX program at the University of New Mexico. I am working on a team project. I am somewhat new to After Effects, and could use some help from anyone who could provide it. here were the instructions given to me.

Attached is the images that I would like tested. The Girl needs to go behind the brush. Remember to try and match lighting and black levels. Think Roger Rabbit, Space Jam, or Mary Poppins.
Let me know if you need any more images or if you have any questions. I may not be available tomorrow evening but there is always the chance that I will.

Ok, So I need to know how I go about getting the little girl image into and behind the bush background image. Then I need to match the lighting and black level. Like I said I am a newbie, so any help or direction on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank You:)
