I just updated from Lightroom 5.4 to the latest version and it seems that Adobe added a blur effect to graduated and radial filters when you're dragging them in place.
The blur confuses the hell out of me and actively comes in the way of me seeing in real-time what area I'm affecting with the filter. I was extremely comfortable with the graduated filters before and now they're a pain to set in place because they're literally having the opposite effect that Adobe intended: making me NOT see what area they're affecting.
Is there a keyboard shortcut or setting that I can change to turn the blur mask off? I use graduated filters so much it's causing me to want to revert back to Lightroom 5.4... much appreciated.
I don't see this effect when dragging a graduated filter into place. I do see a red colored mask depicting where the filter is being used if I hover the cursor over part of the filter button.
So, what exactly do you mean by "Blurry mask"?
Do you have the Clarity or Sharpness sliders set at -100 ?
Or are you seeing an "Overlay" mask ? (Overlay could be set as Grey!)
With a filter tool selected (graduated or radial), double-click on the word "Effects" to reset all the slider adjustments for the tool. What do you see?
You probably have LR set to show the mask. Type 'O' (for Overlay) to toggle it on or off.
