CC 2015 CMYK VS RGB PRINTING QUESTIONS

    matthewdee Level 1

I have been having color issues from printing documents for Ingram Spark. I need to be POSITIVE that it is NOT a something  I'm overlooking in InDesign. I have gotten TWO physical proofs back and see that there is a major issue with both. The file contains a master page which is RED and should be in CMYK the exact numbers are 22 -100- 92- 9

So just to make sure I open the master .indd file to the master page containing the color spread. Then I look at the FILL box.

If I DOUBLE CLICK THE FILL BOX the color picker comes up and its in RGB

but if I click the ARROW next to the fill box the SWATCH OPTIONS box appears and according to that the color is CMYK as I can see the correct color in the dropdown ( I named the color )

Now if I go to the TOOL AREA and click the FILL box and THAT TOO brings up the color picker and it shows the color is in RGB.

I need the color to be in CMYK so can someone explain how I do this?

Hhow do I set the pdf to be CMYK?

Also very important, when I save as a pdf Ingram Spark says

      Save As

      Adobe PDF PRESET

      pdf/x 1A 2001

I Did This but what about the following?

      GENERAL

      COMPATIBILITY

      OPTIONS

      EXPORT LAYERS

COMPRESSSION SETTINGS ( I NEVER TOUCHED)

OUTPUT PAGE ( NEVER ADJUSTED ANYTHING WHAT SHOULD THOSE SETTINGS BE?)

      ADVANCED / OPI WHAT SETTING?

AS INGRAM DOES NOT MENTION ANY OF THAT IN THEIR MANUAL
