    Resizing the WindowedApplication size programatically

      I have done this in a simple example where I have a button press fire off a function/method call:

      public function resize():void {
      stage.nativeWindow.height=750;
      stage.nativeWindow.width=1000;
      }

      This works within the script tag contained within the main application mxml. If I try to use this elsewhere, like in an actionscript class, it doesn't know about the stage property:

      1120: Access of undefined property stage.

      What I am trying to do is have a login screen where the main window size is relatively small. After a successful login, then an event would make the main window larger, and add child content. This is all done within a MVC framework, so event code is outside the main page mxml.

      My question is how would I obtain the stage property so it can be accessed outside the main application mxml?

      Thanks in Advance!
