I am a photographer who has a small studio and thinking of buying two Synology 1815+. I i'm planning to keep one in my house and the other one in my office. I have a very large catalog on Lightroom which I want to use on both NAS devices. Is there a way to mirror the two devices remotely so when I connect my laptop to the network the Lightroom thinks that I use the same catalog? I want to mirror the same catolog both in my house and office. I also want to upload files from the photo shoots I do both from my house and office. I would like the files to be synced automatically. If I upload files from a shoot in my studio I would like them to be synced also in my house catalog.
Thank you in advance,
The LR catalog file can't be on a server or NAS. It has to be local to the computer you are using it on. It can be on an internal or external drive but it has to actually be connected physically to the computer you plan on opening that catalog on.
Sure there are methods of syncing devices across the internet.
Hi Yannis ,
Lightroom catalog needs to be stored locally on your computer. There has been many detailed discussions about this issue. Please refer the links below:-
