We are developing extension for InCopy and InDesign and want to put them in the user extension folder as mentioned in adobe's cookbook here:
Though the windows-path mentioned there is wrong anyway, because there is no
under windows. At least it should be C:\Users\<username>\AppData\... and so on.
Has anyone ever used the per user folder? Not able to find any useful information on the net reagarding this issue :-(
Of course we've done all the stuff for enabling debug extensions (as mentioned here: CEP 6 HTML Extension Cookbook for CC 2015 · Adobe-CEP/CEP-Resources Wiki · GitHub) in the clients and the extensions are running if placed in the system extension folder.
We do use that, and do not have any troubles.

why the extensions developed are restricted to user i.e in appdata/adobe/cep/extensions rather than program files/ common files\.....
