    Feature Tag Deprecation

Don't miss the fact that the Feature tag will be deprecated soon. Here is the blog article that discusses is:

PhoneGap Build config.xml Now Required, and Other Updates

We looked through our usage of the Feature tag and in general we find a nice one-to-one mapping with plugins that we are already using. So we are assuming that when the change takes place in PGB we will see a validation error message and then go ahead and remove our Feature tags and upload the .zip file again. Of course this will require a solid round of testing to be sure that we did not lose any functionality in our app.

For others who may be interested, here is our current list of Feature tags that we are using, with what I assume is the proper plugin that replaces it:

      <feature name="http://api.phonegap.com/1.0/camera"/> replaced with <gap:plugin name="org.apache.cordova.camera" source="npm" />

      <feature name="http://api.phonegap.com/1.0/file"/> replaced with <gap:plugin name="org.apache.cordova.file" source="npm" />

      <feature name="http://api.phonegap.com/1.0/network"/> replaced with <gap:plugin name="org.apache.cordova.network-information" source="npm" />

      <feature name="http://api.phonegap.com/1.0/notification"/> replaced with <gap:plugin name="org.apache.cordova.notification" source="npm" />

      <feature name="http://api.phonegap.com/1.0/device"/> replaced with <gap:plugin name="org.apache.cordova.device-orientation" source="npm" />

If this all looks correct to anyone, please post a comment and say so. And of course, if any of it looks incorrect to anybody, let us know that too!
