Which camera make and model?
Which version of Lightroom?
Nikon D7200 camera and Light room 2015 latest CC issue, its the first time I've used Lr and to make matters worse its a new camera - 1st test pics. I can successfully add old raw files from the old D90 camera but they have been converted so have their .xmp files attached to them, don't know if that makes a difference.
The XMP files shouldn't make a difference. If you happened to have used Nikon Transfer to download the images from your D7200, that could be the problem. Some versions of that program are known to make images unreadable by Adobe software. If that is what happened, here is a utility you can download that is supposed to repair the images so that they will open in Lightroom:
For clarification, please check your about Lightroom screen to verify the exact version of the program that you are running.
I did use Nikon Transfer however I've tried to convert them in Cyberlink PhotoDirector and they don't appear there either. Also its the same Nikon Transfer I've used that came with the D90 that I've been using for 6 years with no trouble.
Am running 2015.4 camera raw 9.4
Just thinking about this again ........ and imported them direct into LightRoom .......worked straight away - therefor Nikon Transfer is now redundant - I'll make LightRoom the default application.
Thanks for the advice.
Now I can learn how to use Lr & Ps.
A Nikon Transfer and View NX for an older camera WILL CORRUPT newer camera files.
