What are the camera settings and Picture Control settings set in your Nikon camera?
What are the Camera Calibration settings set in Lightroom?
The initial view of Capture NX-d is using all the extended Nikon settings so that the image will look like the preview JPG on the back of the camera.
None of the extended Nikon settings are getting used by Lightroom. Lightroom is applying all its own settings.
The Purple-Blue lighting is causing this issue (i.e Magenta highlight clipping). This is a known limitation of the Adobe Standard & Camera profiles with some camera models. What camera model?
Thank you for the reply. Here's some information about the settings.
Photos were taken with D7100, Firmware 1.02, AF-S 50mm 1.4G.
12 Bit compressed RAW
Picture Control: Standard
Long exposure NR: OFF
High ISO NR: NORM
I hope this helps for determining the cause.
Is this known limitation also planned to be fixed? After some research I realized others have got the same problem also with other camera brands.
One of the first problem reports concerning this issue still show no acknowledgment from Adobe. My guess is that it will take a new Process Version to fix it. Best suggestion I can give you for now is to use Capture NX with these type of images. You can add your vote here:
One other thing you can try inside LR is to lower the 'Blue Primary' Saturation in the Camera Calibration panel to reduce the clipping. It still may look different than Capture NX's rendering, but more acceptable.
Way bad and a shame that this issue is not even acknowledged by Adobe. So we all are in fact waiting for the next process version to be released and hoping it will be fixed then...
Thank you anyway for the advice and the information provided!
