    grep before white space

    Jill Orr Level 1

      I have a grep style to bold the text on the first line of a paragraph before a tab that works beautifully. I'm trying to create a grep style to bold all the text on the first line of a paragraph before a 'white figure space'. I thought all I would need to do would be to change out the tab character for the white space:

      (?<=\r).*?(?=~/)

      I inserted the white space character from the drop-down list in the grep expressions. The results are that the whole paragraph is bold. I have to mention that I’m a bit dyslexic, and struggle with the negative and positive look ahead and behind.

      Thanks for any help !!
