Do you get the same problem if you highlight them in the Library grid and drag-drop the images from there?
Although it is suggested to move images from within LR I have found it to be problematic. With some operations files are copied instead of being moved, some are moved and other aren't and in one case I had LR tell me the files where moved when in fact no files were moved at all (they only showed up when the destination folder was selected and nothing showed when the source folder was selected). All the file were still in the original folder when looking with Windows Explorer, the Windows File Manager.
So I have stopped using LR to move or copy file from one folder or drive to another and use Win Explorer to do the move/copy and then Reconnected them in LR.
But it is always best to use the Grid view and not the Film strip when you want to select multiple images for any operation.
Many thanks for getting back to me. Yes i tried moving from the grid and the film strip again and the same message appears again. The only way I can fix it is by going back to the photo on my harddrive rename it and then reimport it into Lightroom. A real pain
Thanks for your reply. I hope Adobe can get to fix this problem. I am glad I am not the only person having difficulty.
