If the file is just a text file, you can open it. In fact if it is binary and know how to parse it, then you can do that too. You just can't access other native applications using AIR.
i cant acces any native applications ?
So if i want to print a file or so ?
or if i want to open a document received from server side ?
You can print from Flex / AIR applications, and you can open documents downloaded to the flex app from the server, but you can't open them in non-Flex apps. Like you can't open an Excel file in Excel.
On Mac OS X,
the address book is stored as a SQLite formatted database.
Which means, I think that you can just access it directly with flex, instead of requesting it with an API or trying to figure out how to open it.
Just to understand better
Printing is ok despite it is native ?
But if i download a file from server that is excel (xsl) i can't open it from the application with excel ?
In java you may do native calls ,in air is not possible ? ,since i thought is something similar.
