- Could you please let me know the exact version of Lightroom installed on your computer ?
- Also which operating system are you working on , Windows or MAC ?
- Do you get any error when trying to export the Book as PDF or it does not export the images without any error ?
- Try to create a Test Collection and then try to export the images as PDF.
I have Lightroom 5 installed on my Mac using iOS x.
When trying to export the book as a PDF I get the following message, "An error occurred whilst saving the book. An error occurred addicting text and fonts to the book." and it does not export anything, although it will export the front cover.
I will try to create a Test Collection and they try to export the images as PDF - IO'll report back.
You should get two PDF's.
One for the covers and a separate pdf for all the other pages. Look in your folder.
Thank for your suggestion. I have created a 'test' book containing photos only and that saves to pdf perfectly, just as I would expect. I think the problem maybe that I have many pages of text. From reading other forums I saw a suggestion that a page of text might need to be flattened before it can be handled by lightroom and expected as a pdf. file. How do I 'flatten' a page of text? Are there any other things I could try.
Thanks - I am aware that I should get two pdf files. I have asked them to be saved on my desktop. The cover saves properly, but the remainder of the book does not. Any other suggestions, please?
A quick search in the LR forum pulls up many posts with the same issue and error message, "An error occurred adding text and fonts to the book." At least one user found that some text was in a different font type (Times New Roman) than the default Myriad Pro. Once the different text font was changed (or the text removed) the book could be output to PDF.
Are you using multiple font types in the book? I suggest not doing that.
To change ALL text to one font type use menu Edit> 'Select All Text Cells.' In the right-hand 'Type' panel it will show the font type you are using. Next change it to any other font type, and then change it back to the font type you were using previously. If that was Myriad Pro then that's what you want to select. Your must 1) select a different font type first and then 2) change it back to the desired font to update all text cells to the same font type. Please let us know if that fixes the issue.
