I work as the sole engineer at a very large crane company, and have been given the task of creating a document for our sales guys that sum up the most important aspects of each model.
I'm hoping to create a PDF with technical drawings, tables of data, a table of contents with links to the pages for each subject, an Index of important terms that are also linked to relevant pages.
One search online recommended LaTex, but I'm looking for something a little less cryptic, hopefully with a GUI. Do any of the Adobe Creative Cloud products fit my needs?
I don't do that kind of writing, but I THINK InDesign will work for you... go to the program in the catalog and click to read more... and then think about the free 30-day trial to find out for yourself
what is in the entire Cloud http://www.adobe.com/creativecloud/catalog/desktop.html
For more information about InDesign you would ask in that specific forum - List of Forums https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1929760
If you decide to buy a subscription to InDesign, you may do so as a single program or as part of an entire Cloud subscription
You may also buy a monthly subscription, or an annual subscription with monthly payments

Thank you, I will post there.
