I've been working on an indesign document over the space of a week - constantly saving and occasionally exporting as a PDF to see the final version. When I was content with the final thing I renamed the file and tried to export it, to which I was faced with the spinning wheel. Now, every time I try to reopen the file Indesign crashes. Other documents open, but this particular one won't. The file initially opens but when you move the mouse to create any actions the spinning wheel comes on. I tried the CTRL+Option+Shift+CMD to delete the preferences but this still hasn't worked. I also tried opening the file on a PC and it says I need to 'Convert the file', which I agree to do and then it fails.
Can anyone give any suggestions?
Did you save incremental copies?
See Remove minor corruption by exporting, and if it crashes before you can do the export, you can try the blind export script at Adobe Community: InDesign 6 is crashing when attempting to open a particular document. All others are opening OK.
There is also a recovery tool you can try at Repair corrupt InDesign Adobe files on Mac OS X
