Premier Elements 14. Working with mp4 video clips that have audio recorded as part of each clip. Applying Slow Motion causes the audio to go silent.  How do I fix this?

I'm working with mp4 video clips that have audio recorded as part of each clip, i.e., the video and audio were recorded simultaneously by a single handheld video camera.  When I apply Slow Motion to a clip, the audio goes silent.  It remains silent until the video returns to normal speed/motion.

      How do I fix this?

What setting, or function, should I be using?

      Thanks
