    Keying in AE

I have an existing logo, white text on a black field, and I want to make it keyable.  How do I do that?  I've tried all the Keying effects with no luck.

Do you have transparency toggled off?  My guess is either A) The keying is working but if you do not have transparency turned on you can't tell. Or B) Your text already has transparency and the black field you're seeing is not a real background, it's just you don't have transparency enabled.

This depends entirely upon the format of your logo. If it's a JPEG fan open it up in Photoshop and use the selection tools to create some transparency and save it as a PSD.

For better instructions we need to know a lot more about your logo and exactly what you are trying to do.
