There has to be a way to do it without buying anything else. I've spent so much money and cannot afford any more. I have a full film and rendering setup... surely that's enough? I'm tired of this damn monopoly on creative industries in Australia... our economy's bad enough, thanks.
If you have AE CC, you can use Cineware/ Cinema 4D Lite and import your OBJ files exported from Blender there. Otherwise - no, there is no native way to import 3D geometry into AE and you need plug-ins like Element 3D.
Oh, FFS. Is there any way to edit the footage in AE and then export it into Blender and then do the 3D aspects within Blender using some form of tracking?
Blender has a pretty good tracker. Blender also has an export script for setting up blender camera moves in AE. I use it all the time. You just have to dig through the Blender.org resources. They have some good tutorials.
I also model things in Blender all the time and save the models as OBJ files to use in C4D. I even export OBJ files from Photoshop and use them in C4D lite and AE.
