You are asking on the phonegap forum, but it seems a phonegap build question, the right phonegap build forum is https://forums.adobe.com/community/phonegap/build
That answer seems old, you should use cordova-plugin-inappbrowser to open external links in the phone browser
Install it adding this line to the config.xml
and open the phone browser with
"cordova-plugin-inappbrowser" is no longer supported. Do you know what has replaced it?
cordova-plugin-inappbrowser is an official plugin and it's still supported, why do you say it's not supported?
PhoneGap rejected my build on the grounds that this had been discontinued some time in November this year. However if you add source="npm" then they are happy.
What is no longer supported is pgb source, you should use npm as source in all your plugins

Answering my own question:
<a href="#" onclick="cordova.InAppBrowser.open('http://google.com', '_system');return false;">Link to Google</a>
Thanks ever so much! I have been looking across Google and Stack Overflow to find a solution to this apparently simple task. Everything I found was expressed in what seemed like gobbledegook. Yours is the first answer that made sense in ordinary English!
Can you tell me how to hide the addreess bar opened in link
Thanks!, that solved my problem.
