Page transitions are not supported in EPUB or Publish Online
But can I at least stop the blinking?
InDesign does not support page transitions, and that includes "blinking". It must be a problem in the software you are viewing it with.
Odd. I'm using chrome to open the link generated by InDesign itself. I provided the link in the first post. Does that not happen with you?
the "blinking" is inherit in advancing pages with documents published online.
I think the "blinking" will occur in every browser. Depending on the complexity of the contents that is to render and to be cached.
The "blinking" can also be seen in the EPUB Interactivity Preview panel from InDesign.
With very simple documents it's more aparent In Firefox 44.0.2 than in Safari 8.0.6 on my OSX 10.10.3.
With more complex documents like with Leon's example my Firefox 44.0.2 seems to do a better job.
The "blinking" is also there, but the rendering of the page is more rapidly.
Not so in my Safari browser.
One very simple example with 4 pages where I can see "blinking" in my Firefox, but nearly no "blinking" with Safari:
A way out of this would maybe mean one large multistate object (MSO) with buttons to advance from state to state.
State transitions cannot be smooth like in DPS, will happen rapidly, but there is no "blinking". At least not in my simple 4-state-example.
With more complex contents of the states it may happen, that there is some latency.
My example from above with a very simple MSO containing the contents of the pages as states where two buttons on the bottom control the advancing of states.
