Version not compatible with premiere element

I created a file in my old HP PC. It recently crashed so i downloaded the program in my new pc. In the new pc, it lets me open my old file but when i edit and save, it gives me a message not compatible with premiere elements. How can i edit my old project and save it in my new pc and open it without saying it is not compatible.

I bought premiere pro 14 and i downloaded the same version in new pc

Which version of the program did you create the project with on your old computer? Are both copies of Premiere Elements 14 fully activated?

Are you using the same operating system on both computers? Have you got the latest version of Quicktime on your new computer?

If your old computer crashed, how are you getting the .prel file from the old computer to the new one? Did you also move all of the accompanying media files?
