Adobe Indesign CC Version: 18.104.22.168
Your version is way to old, you need version 11, now is InDesign 11.2 the current version, and soon 11.3.
You have to install it from your CC Desktop application as you have paid for it.
BUT very important:
How did you install your version? Via original installer from Adobe or via migration from Backup, older computer or TimeMachine?
If you have not installed your InDesign from the original installer, if you have installed it via migration, you have to uninstall it, download the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool, clean up your Mac. After removing the destruction which was caused by migration you can start and install it from the scratch.
That's the earliest—not bug-fixed version—of inDesign CC.
Are there any reasons not to update at least to version 9.3.0 ?
Uwe, with El Capitan she might upgrade to CC2015.2 anyway.
Yes, but she might have installed an important 3rd party plug-in, that would be costly to update or is not ready for update.
We simply do not know enough…
