Have you tried rendering the timeline (press the Enter key) to improve your playback?
What operating system are you using? Have you ensured you have the latest version of Quicktime, per the program's requirements?
What model of camcorder is your video coming from and what format and resolution is it?
Which processor do you have and how much RAM?
Thanks for your quick reply. It took some digging to try to answer all your questions, but here goes!
Operating System: See attachment
QuickTime was not on this computer but is being installed. Which version is best? Do we even need it if we are not running AP Elements on a Mac?
We just installed 7.7.4 so we will see if that makes a difference.
Model of Camcorder: Panasonic HDC-TM90
Format and resolution: AVCHD - HG1920
Note: We were just playing back what we had edited (within AP Elements 11) when we noticed the freeze. (The sound kept right on going normally)
In Expert view, is there a yellow-orange line along the ticker along the top of the timeline above your clips? This would indicate a mismatch between your project settings and video specs.
Have you tried rendering your timeline (this yellow-orange line will turn green) as I suggested in my earlier post?
Have you restarted your computer since installing Quicktime?
Can you PLEASE tell us your operating system and computer specs?
