Yes I have and it still crashes on startup
I did read through that as well, but I am having a problem navigating
Windows 10 to find and rename the folders, they were not in the path that
was listed before on other forums. I did do the ctrl, alt, shift and reset
preferences and that didn't work. I have actually gone through the forums
on this problem, I posted cause I'm struggling to find a solution that
Nothing about the folder locations or names has changed in Windows 10, including that they are hidden by default. The problem usually is the permissions on the folders preventing you from writing the preference files, so attempting to replace them will not work.
Ok, thanks then it's just me struggling to navigate windows in general. Can
you help me with unhiding the folders and trying to fix this problem? How
do I change the permissions?
Sorry, on the road all day. I don't have access to a Win 10 machine at the moment, but I suspect the Windows help system can tell you how to show hidden files in Explorer....
ok i managed to find and change the suggested folder names and it still
wont start... this is frustrating, can someone please give me a step by
step solution, i will try them each one by one...

Multiple folks are able to work fine with this new release. So it seems like something specific to your machine.
Can you please provide me the crash dump from your machine so that i can investigate further.
To create crash dump on Windows, when InDesign crashes, do not exit the application, instead go to Task Manager>InDesign>Right Click>Create Dump.
I have the same issue, I have a DUMP file. (80MB)
How can I send it to you?
Hi Monica, I have made the dump folder, but it is really large, how do I send it to you?
my dump folder is 6gb
Can you please copy that folder in Creative cloud files and share with me. Or if you have that much available space in dropbox, or Google drive share using that.
My mailid: firstname.lastname@example.org
ok it is too big to sync to creative cloud so loading it to the google drive, will send the link as soon as it uploads. Is the dump file supposed to be so big?
I already sent it via WeTransfer ... Did you get the link?
I did email you the dump file, please let me know if you recieved it.
Thanks so much for your help
To see the hidden files on win10, Open the explorer. Go-to view tab and check the hidden files option.
Once, you enable that option, you will be able to see the hidden files. Now, follow the steps mentioned by Peter in the thread Adobe InDesign CC 2015 - Program has stopped wo... | Adobe Community
This should work.
Please do it and then confirm if you are able to solve it.
Thanks for the timely response Monica, I have tried the steps mentioned in
that thread and to no avail indesign is still not functioning. I have
teamviewer if you would like to try fix this problem on my machine
remotely... did you receive my dump file from my email email@example.com

I have received it.
Waiting for further steps/directions now!
I am also having this issue on MANY Win7/8.1 computers in my environment. Indesign CC 2015 in all cases and all were working fine before the March 2016 update last week. Now all installs crash when Indesign reaches "executing startup services". Deleting preference file and/or starting in safemode have no affect. Running Indesign as another user or an admin user (regular users not admin in our environment) also has no affect.
We use the Enterprise deployment. If we deploy our previous Indesign package (pre March update) it works fine. As soon as the computer updates (which for us is an automatic task to check in with the Adobe Remote Update Server on each bootup) Indesign starts crashing. We also built a new deployment package with the current March update version of Indesign. This one crashes immediately once installed.
Please help. We have MANY Indesign users who are currently sitting with nothing to do.
same problem here... (windows 10 / indesign cc 2015) since last weeks update, indesign crashes every time i start it up "executing startup services"
I deleted the cache folder. deleted preferences (crtl-alt-shift)... but still the same error.
my solution for the moment... downgrad to the former version (basic cc 2015). now it works again.
i hope you are able to fix this issue soon.
It looks like Adobe is starting to post a "fix" for this issue on similar threads in the InDesign forum.
Control Panel > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings > Uncheck all three boxes
Here is a link to another thread with a screenshot of the LAN Settings page: Not open Indesign CC, Error "Adobe Indesign CC 2015 has stopped wprking"
In my case, all of our domain machines had the top box, "Automatically detect settings" on by default. I have verified on both Win 7 and Win 8.1 clients that unchecking this box fixes InDesign failing to launch. This fix is per-user (since it didn't require admin rights to change the setting) and will need to be set for each user on a shared machine.
If anyone is interested, you can force LAN Settings via GPO with the following setting:
Create a new policy object
User Configuration > Preferences > Control Panel Settings > Internet Settings > Right-click Internet Settings, select 'New' and the version of IE you are configuring.
Navigate to the Connections tab > LAN Settings > Uncheck the boxes
If you support multiple versions of IE, you'll need to create Internet Settings for each version (Internet Explorer 10 is implied 10 and higher and will work for machines with IE 11 installed).
