The "upgrade" is actually just a special price Adobe offers to current owners of the software. You still get the complete install of the software.
The presence of a previous version of the software on your computer isn't necessary to install version 14.
However, if your computer is 10 years old, you should double-check to ensure that you meet the system requirements -- which ideally are at least double the minimum requirements listed on the Adobe site.
Ok, thanks. Glad to hear there is no limitation that the upgrade only works for the previous 3 versions or something.
My computer itself is only a few years old i5 with 8 gigs of ram, and it runs 4k in Premiere reasonably well. I do think that 4k video editing is a good reason to upgrade to a 6 core processor with 32 gigs later this year.
Sounds like in good shape, technology-wise!
