Can you supply the original raw file via dropbox?
You might try this LR4 plug-in to see if it still works: http://tim.jagenberg.info/projects/deaspect/
Since it is just calling ExifTool to perform the actual file manipulation, perhaps you can use ExifTool directly with the parameters shown on the plug-in page.
Is the error plug-in related or image-related? I mean does the plug-in not load with LR 6 at all or does it start to work but then gives an error when you try to apply it to an image?
And why are you still on LR 6.0 instead of LR 6.4?
Was your camera set to the 16:9 ratio when you took the picture?
Thanks for the reply! Here is the image file:
I have tried ExifTool, but it seems to be too be quite complicated for me to comprehend.
I can load the plugin without problem. When i tried to apply the plugin error appeared
Try Converting your RAW image to DNG instead of Exporting it as a DNG. Not sure what the Export as DNG does but I do know that converting To DNG saves all RAW data that is in the original RAW file.
Also that document you linked to says This Results in a new DNG file auto imported. Have you searched for that New DNG created by Recover Edges?
Have you Reset the Crop area, like that document suggests?
I was able to get the plug-in to work just fine, no errors.
I used LR to convert to DNG - Library: Library / Convert to DNG... you can choose whether or not to delete the original raw. I usually don't delete the original raw but the plug-in works either way:
After using Apply in the Plug-in Extras, to see the new DNG which has a _full suffix on the filename, I right-clicked on the original DNG and chose Goto Folder In Library. That revealed both photos side-by-side and selecting Develop then Crop and as Shot showed a cropbox inside the entire original raw data extent:
