Hi, I'm painter primarily and i take photos of my models to work from.
i use a 5d mark ll so i have nice raw files to work with. i recently acquired a epson r3000
printer and would like to start to print my own reference pictures. i have very little knowledge about printing.
i'm finding that the mid tones are really lacking.
i am a very basic photoshop user, typically i don't need to alter images much.
i'd love to learn more best practices for keeping the mid tones rich and true and how this carries through to printing.
anyone have an suggestions for on line resource or a class in the LA area?
One suggestion: a book by Jeff Schewe:
The Digital Print: Preparing Images in Lightroom and Photoshop for Printing
Here's a chapter:
