In fact, the idea of using two such programs (Lightroom and Photos) that do overlapping things seems like twice the work with much less than twice the benefit. In other words, without a really really really good reason, this sounds like a bad idea.
Well no is no.
My reason for asking is that I have found LR useful for the nuances of its editing but otherwise a pain in the ***. So most of my pix go into Photos. Some have been edited in LR.
As I have not long to live I thought it would be nice if I could speed up the editing/saving process with these two incompatible programmes, but that will have to wait for another lifetime.

Since you don't give details, we can't advise further. But I will say that most people who use Lightroom do not find it a pain.
Is using one program like Lightroom more of the pain than trying to use two incompatible programs that don't talk to each other?
