Connection error what does it mean ?

When I try to check me in Adobe Digital Editions, I get this message : "Connection error. ADE could not connect to the activation server. Be sure to be connected to internet". Yet the internet is functional (I verified). What can I do ?

Set Digital Edition in your Firewall was sure program.
