Don't get it - it's Open GL 4.4 and the memory should make a difference.
That would be a naive assumption. The GPU support needs an extremely beefy GPU to provide a speedup and it only works for specific operations in Develop. It can be good but you really need a fast GPU. On many machines it actually only causes a slowdown. Even on very beefy machines, if you are a heavy user of local adjustments, using the GPU actually is slower than without.
Well - I just know that Lightroom on my machine. I7 - 3GHZ - 500GB SSD - 8GBRAM and the mentioned graphic card is very slow. Definitely slower as LR5 was. I am looking for a solution since long time. GPU is deactivated and almost everything that slows the CPU down...
Just don't get why Apple - Adobe don't get this running. I read about other users that have exactly the same slow setup since LR6...
Local adjustments are real killers for the computer. I always get the rainbow-spinning-wheel.... ;-(
What helps all the discussion - they will not bring an update for users of 2013 MacBooks... So I get two options - switching back to LR 5 or buying a new computer... OR (even 3) -> get rid of Lightroom...
