Now I am writing a program that needs low latency.I can only
communicate with server through Port 80.So I have to use
traditional HTTP-based service(I use <mx:HTTPService /> in
Flex) instead of the XMLSocket class. But it is not satisfying. The
latency is very high.I know there is long-lived connection in HTTP
/1.1,and the brower can keep the connection alive all the time.
So what should i do to improve the performance of my
program.Can i use a long-lived HTTPService in Flex 1.5?
I do not know about "long lived connections" but i have heard
that you can do a "blocking" HTTP call, where you make the
request(connection), then when the server is ready, it sends the
response. You would then immediately establish another connection.
This way, your latency is only the response leg of the round
I tried this half-heartedly using ASP.NET, but couldn't get
it to work.
