Hi, I've been hired to design a brochure with an inner pocket, like this one:
Is it possible to design something like this in InDesign, and if so, I would I go about setting it up? Will the printer know how to fold it/secure the flaps for the pocket?
I'm a graphic design newbie so any advice would be very much appreciated!
I'd mock one up in thick paper to make sure it "works" then take it to your printer to discus.
As well as the artwork, you'll need to produce a forme cutter guide, as after it's printed, it'll need cutting, folding, and assembling.
Pocket folders are a specialty item that only a few printers actually produce in-house, and most of the converting companies that do the actual work will provide a template for you, or at the very least a drawing as above in your original post, showing where things go.
