How can I merge excel data into indesign. It is not using cells, just place markers for the data. The merge produces one record per page, instead of 15 on the page. (Multiple records is selected.) I feel like I am missing one crucial part. I have set the indesign doc up with one set place markers on one page, then multiple place markers on one page. NOthing works, and inDesign quits. Thanks!
For a multiple record merge you need exactly one set of placeholders, in the upper left position, on your template page. InDesign will reproduce EVERYTHING on the page as many times as it will fit, so if you have other objects, or a full page background or something like that which prevents multiple reproduction that will be a problem. Multiple record merges are restricted to a single-page template, too.
