I have several gif graphics of hopping easter bunnies I'd like to put into the background of a video of kids searching for easter eggs. My idea was to use keyframes to move it about. I have done this successfully with animated graphics provided by Adobe - unfortunately there are no easter bunnies among them. The gifs I have are all transparent except when I important them into Elements - then they have a white background. I only have photoshop elements and have been trying to save them (export is grayed out) in different formats but have had no success. So is it possible to import gifs into premiere elements without the white background and (2) does Adobe have any more animated graphics for download somewhere on its site? Thank you.
Yes, if you've saved your GIFs as transparent GIFs.
To do that from Photoshop Elements, go to File/Save for Web, set the format to GIF and check the Transparent option.
Your graphics must be on a layer and there must be no background layer.
Note that animated GIFs won't import as animated objects though in Premiere Elements.
Thanks for the reply, but your last statement answered my question. If I can't import gifs as animated then that is that. I don't think I want to create the animation myself for home videos. It would be nice if Adobe offered a few more of their own to download. Or if I knew what format they used so I might find some elsewhere.
