Is this permissions issues something that is occurring on all machines? Or on only a few? Is there a fix coming in another update soon? I teach in a college photo program and we have about 25 Macs running Lightroom and Photoshop, and I want to avoid downtime while we change permissions for student, teacher and admin users on all the machines..
I doubt everyone has the problem and the script that is already packaged with LR should work on most systems that do have problems, but that initial script doesn’t fix everything and isn’t smart enough to indicate what is still failing. It’s hard to say what might happen as your school.
In general, Adobe doesn’t answer the “when” question. I would hope they’re doing something soon, but I have no information. Running the script that’s linked in the official response on the feedback forum apparently does a better job than what LR ships with, so you might familiarize yourself with that in case it is needed and check back on that forum to see if there are any newer revisions of the script:

If Adobe’s fix is to release LR 6.5.1/2015.5.1 then downloading and installing that might take more time than running the script, alone.
