Please post exact error message you are getting.
To be clear, windows 10. Error message is "Please save your work and close the following programs, the click Continue: - Adobe After Effects CC 2015"
Once you launch Task Manager , scroll download and check under Back ground process and end all Adobe related processes , Also check whether Dynamiclink manager process is running ,if yes , end it and try to update.
Still same ??
Let us know . You may also select selective startup process and then try to update.
No dice. The second I open Creative Cloud, all the background processes start again.
Restart the computer .
Launch Task Manager and end all Adobe related processes , as mentioned if present end dynamiclinkmanager process.
do not launch any Adobe apps.
Download After Effects update from below link and then try to update.
If you still get same error , you might need to try with selective start up .. We cannot try safemode as After Effects does not work in safemode.
or you may also check with Adobe Support , they can even remote access your comp and fix the issue.
Click on Still need help button and select Chat option .

Okay, issue solved. I downloaded the version of after effects off of that website (https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?step=CCSN_membership-account-payment_account-settings _stillNeedHelp ) and then hit update on creative cloud. Thanks for the help.
