There's no fun in that. How long do you want to wait before things start running? Why not load, say 6 images, start the slideshow and load the other images in the background?
And if you know how to load one jpg... it's a small step to load more. All you have to do is use a for loop to loop over the images in an array and call the loadClip method of the MovieClipLoader Class. In the onLoadInit handler you increment a counter and let a function check if the counter equals the contents of the array that holds the images. All loaded... fade in the first image and use a setInterval to show the others.
Thank you very much, IT sounds great, but i think that is all over my head....
I do know how to load external jpegs, but i am confused about the loop to loop array.
here is my fla and swf
Your publish settings are for Flash Player 7 and AS2. My advice is to use the MovieClipLoader Class instead of loadMovie(). Hit F1 and search for MovieClipLoader and you'll find examples.
To load more images you just need an array (or any other datacontainer for that matter) that holds the pathinfo to your images. Attached an example how you loop over the array.
i will try this and follow up if I have any more questions.
