Trying to use ADS Pyro A/V Link w/ PE14 and Windows10Pro

    Duke Green

Hello. It has been some time and several versions ago that I used this device to capture VHS. I'm trying to use it again w/ no success.

The 1394 is working properly and I got the device recognized by Windows, but it doesn't show up in PE options to capture.

I tried going back to PE11 w/ the same results. It is there in Device Manager, but PE doesn't see it.

I understand that drivers are not available, but using Firewire, apparently they are not needed.

      Any ideas?

Premiere Elements 14 doesn't support Firewire capture.

You can use these programs for capture:

          WinDV   WinDV

          HDVSplit   HDVSplit 0.77 beta

To capture in Premiere Elements 11, you need to enable the Legacy driver.

This is for Windows 7, but may work for Windows 10:

Solution 6: Use the Legacy FireWire driver (Windows 7 x64)

          • Click the Windows start button; type "device manager" into the Search box and select Device Manager

Swivel open the "IEEE 1394 Bus host controllers" item

Right-click on your listed 1394 controller; select "Update Driver Software"

Click the "Browse my computer for driver software" button, followed with the "Let me pick from a list" button

Select the option that has "(Legacy)" at the end of the name; click Next and let Windows install the driver

Close out of dialogs and retry capture
