This is going to sound very dumb. I am new to Lightroom so this is probably obvious. It's my understanding that Lightroom does not change your original photos and simply stores all of the edits in the catalog file. So how is that when you give someone a photo you edited that they will get the edited picture if they do not have Lightroom and my catalog? Does Lightroom have some sort of publish command that creates file you can then give out?
Use export to make a jpeg or tiff file.
Lightroom has an Export option that allows you to export copies as JPEG, TIF or PSD files, and those exported copies will include all of the adjustments you have made using Lightroom. You might find it valuable to take the time to watch this set of video since you are new to Lightroom.
