It seems there are 2 ways to perform OCR on a PDF that needs it: Enhance Scans/Recognize Text (under Tools) and trying to highlight text that is not OCR'd (this prompts the option to recognize the text). The first method almost always crashes Acrobat for me. The second is flawless. They seem to do the same job. I wonder if this is a bug or specific to my configuration. Placing the Aa tool symbol in my toolbar would be the most convenient method; but that causes the crash.
Thanks in advance.
Hi jiporter ,
Please provide the exact dot version of the software & OS installed at your system .Also check whether is there any update available for the software after going through "help > check for updates "
Follow this thread to reset the preferences for the Acrobat software :- How to reset Preference settings in Acrobat.
If you are on Windows OS, open Acrobat, navigate to Help menu & repair the installation.
Is this happening with all the files or with certain one.
Please check with the Different user account to replicate the issue.
Thanks but I don't think you are responding to a question that I asked above.
I am using OS X El Capitan, the latest version of Acr. DC, and have no problems with my preferences.
