How can I allow for unlimited text in a form field in an interactive pdf? CS6
I have figured out how to overflow text in a form field .... by turning into a scroll bar when the text gets too lng..... however that's not what I'm looking for.
I have seen samples where a form field allowed for overflow text to be present without a scroll. This was accomplished by dynamic scaling text. As the text got too long for the form field the font gradually started to decrease in size allowing all text to be seen at all times without a scroll (granted the text gets quite small if you really overfill with text). Hope I'm explaining that right.
does anyone know if that's possible in indesign cs6? If so is there a tutorial you can point me to? If not in indesign how was this accomplished?
Thank you in advance.
Creating a form in InDesign CS6 or later is only a starting point. You can create your layout there and enter some settings, but only there are only a small number of settings. When the PDF form is created, you need to tweak the settings and add additional ones in Acrobat Pro. Acrobat will give you several ways you can lay out text fields.
I suggest you learn more about forms either from a video or a book. My favorite video series is Lynda.com videos by Claudia McCue on creating forms. You can get a 10-day trial. Here's the most relevent series:
Thank you Steve. Yeah I figured Indesign CS6 was limited to only a few things you could do with forms. I will check out the videos thanks.
