Currently, that's the way the Lightroom and Photoshop Fix can interact on iOS. They can "open in" each other's app, but it creates a new file every time. I'm pretty sure it's a limitation of the OS.
I have noticed this also. What gets saved back to the desktop? The duplicate file that is cleaned up or the original file without the edits?

Since you're duplicating a file, and saving it back into LR Mobile as a duplicate, both versions would come through to the desktop.
Thanks for the reply.
That is exactly what is happening.
I have the original file with metadata in LR desktop and a new cleaned up image from PS Mobile without metadata.
Is there a way to combine the files or to transfer the metadata to the new file?
I am going back and cleaning up a bunch of scanned slides from the sixties and PS mobile is a great way to do it on the iPad Pro.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
