This advice and link is of little use to me and I am disappointed that this is Adobe's response. I regret to say that I have already tried this route so much so that my various attempts have resulted in my monthly broadband allowance being gobbled-up in failures to update.
I have therefore decided to cancel my Cloud subscription for Photoshop and Lightroom CC 2015. I am advised that this will lapse by end April and I will be billed for the termination fee. However even that penalty I am willing to suffer, as being released from this dreadful system will be a relief as well as no longer being a drain on my monthly allowances.
Meanwhile I am falling back on my Lightroom 5 and Elements 11 packages to meet my needs.
Advice that includes the use of text editors is of no use to subscribers who are not IT trained.
This reply from Adobe is regretfully for me not a "Correct Answer"!! I would caution anyone considering an Adobe Cloud subscription to think carefully of my experience before committing themselves to it!
